Social Media

I am excited to be using social media as part of my networking in the two areas of my work. My career experience in law enforcement, investigations, security, and more, culminated with me teaching for 9+ years in a college police and security program. While I have left that, I still teach the occasional online course for the University of Calgary in related areas. Earning a Master of Distance Education degree and being interested in technology brought out the passion for distance education. This involves me with educators, course developers, instructional designers, and techie types. On Twitter, I do find a lot who fit these categories.

My other passion also developed from my career. Family financial counselling was part of my responsibilities in one government position, and there were other financial related areas. This has evolved to my primary business activity focusing on personal financial security. This website and blog relates, for the most part, to the business. There are many enjoyable personal networking opportunities with the use of social media, and friendships develop, but there is no doubt it also helps promote my availability as a financial advisor.
